9: Insurance Shouldn’t Be One Size Fits All Or Chosen Just By Price | Derek Wiley | Derek Wiley Agency

Be Inspired | Do Good:

Derek Wiley saw an opportunity to better serve his clients and he took it.  Shortly after graduating from VMI, Derek became a claims adjuster with Progressive Insurance and later became a Senior Litigation Representative for Atlantic Mutual and Ace Private Risk Services.  These stepping stones prepared him to come home, to Botetourt county, and start his own insurance agency.

What began as an exclusive agency with Allstate Insurance soon became an independent insurance agency.  He states, “I soon discovered that my clients would be better served if they were offered coverage and price options with several different insurance companies.  As an independent insurance agency, I can offer my customers an array of insurance products from some of the best insurance carriers in the country.”

Derek warns, don’t just purchase the cheapest priced or most marketed insurance, make sure you get the correct coverage that meets your overall needs.  Find an advocate who will properly assess the risks you face and give you an objective analysis of the marketplace. It’s up to you to make the final choice.
